- these books that are both 'old' (lets say pre-internet) and 'hard to see the
point of' (lets say in the sense of having an established thesis it persues) are
always fascinating because a lot of the things they show angst about have only
intensified in the past 50 years, and the wide-angle nature of these works show
quite a lot that they have angst about
